Baloo is about 2-3 years old and a great little guy. He's a small mix but very happy go lucky. He does well with people, and other dogs (cats may be a little much for him or it may be that he just doesn't quite know what they are yet).

He tolerates a bath and ear cleaning, but didn't seem to know why this was being done. In time he should be more comfortable with routine grooming. He did get a little car sick when he was transported to Knoxville, but again it could have just been new to him or left over anesthesia from his neuter.

Baloo adjusted to our house quite quickly. He learned to use the doggy door that leads to the fenced-in yard within 30 minutes- very intelligent dog. He was comfortable being outside by himself and wasn't interested in playing with our other 2 dogs- they would try to play but he would just wag his tail. If he attempted to go upstairs without me, I would tell him "No" and he would turn around & come back into the room where I was at. I believe that he is housebroken as he would whine when he needed to go to the bathroom, I would let him out to do his business & he would immediately want to come back inside. He would follow me from room to room but would not necessarily need attention- he would simply lay down or sleep. We did not crate him overnight and he slept in our bedroom floor- no overnight accidents or de structive behaviors. He knew that he had to sit before he would get a treat but he does not really know any verbal commands. He needs to h ave someone work with him on lea sh. He did occasionally jump up to greet me but when I would turn my back as he was doing this, he would eventually realized that he had to sit before I would bend down to pet him. Overall, a very smart dog that needs a little bit of training- I think he would make an awesome pet for someone.
